I'm so sorry your wife and my mom seem to b having the same problems. I know some people who have had g tube placed and still got chemo though. Chemo and tpn. This guy I know has been on it since January.risto wrote:My DW was hospitalized Monday, and the CT scans show that portions of her small bowel are "matted with tumor" so they do not believe she will have any significant resolution of her obstruction. Therefore they recommended, and my DW accepted, having a venting G-Tube placed. The procedure was under conscious sedation by interventional radiology, and it was successful. She had the NG tube removed from her nose so that was a relief. However, since the bowel obstruction is now essentially permanent, she can't have any more chemo, and we have been given an estimate of 1-3 months to live. I plan to take leave from work to care for her full time. Sad times. At least her pain and nausea are well controlled now and she is comfortable.
