OK - My vote for the SEASON'S best SOB Story ....DRUM ROLL   WAIT FOR IT    Goes to the TWINS separated @ a young age into separate foster families :) :!: :!: They got me on that one...otherwise I get through 'em    However I don't mind a little of their background such as age, where they're from, how they started in music etc.

AND to my point as demonstrated on Monday's show (I think) the judges LOVE the pain & suffering going into their songs (the female ones anyway). Me...I could live w/o 'em. EVERYBODY has a story to tell, but I don't begrudge them theirs. However what I HAVE noticed in life is those telling THEIRS, tend NOT to ask you YOURS.

Ok now sista'

I have last night's recorded and will try to watch tonight's afterwards on a mini binge ..... BUTT

is it just me ???? am I getting so blasé that I just expect greater talent each year
and even though this year's IS GREAT talent
I don't know, maybe the show concept has run its course ???

I would hate to think so because I love the music
BUTT maybe all the "entertainment" circus surrounding the talent detracts ?
Maybe I am just a grumpy old bugger

Wadya think ?

Cheers

THAT'S what I think

I have been really busy this Spring w/projects (for one, got my portable veggie garden planted earlier, yay!) that when I finally sit down to watch TV news (also recorded on DVR), I seem to fall asleep in 30 min. Been meaning to get on here for update, but I am behind on The Voice by a few weeks. It is a commitment to watch this show. All things do get a bit predictable over time, which is why I really like how they changed things up this season. My guess viewership down.THE BLOCK, though I have mixed feelings on that, understand why they did it, PLUS amped up the show a bit between judges. This show is about entertainment between judges in regards to the music. Yes, I read Christina A's criticism that is wasn't about the music, but it has to be more than that to attract & keep viewers.

So: I LIKE Kelly Clarkson; she did tone it down some. Her team - not my fav. I agreed w/the first 4 pics of the elimination of 12. Britton Buchanan, Team Alicia for male. Went to look up the name of the female I liked & see all the updates on who is eliminated to date  Oh well...binge watching no fun either. Do that too. Maybe I'll skip to current, IDK.

I would like to see them involve their guest coaches more. Maybe have them in the audience after first session or involve in one song together: contestant, coach, guest coach trio. Always enjoy when the coaches sing together or with a contestant. There's still a lot they can do w/the show. They could cut down on the sob stories, repetitive stuff so public doesn't need to invest 3 hrs/wk watching.

Another thing w/me is that I'm not familiar w/a lot of the newer songs, so this season less of the oldies but goodies. Acoustics better this season. I do like that they let the public vote on the final 12.

A bunch of oldies songs this week, all pretty well done I think BUTT nobody should mess with "Imagine"

Britton and Bryn make a great duo ... I think they should hook up !!!

I agree generally better stage sound and that band IS THE BEST of any live band I have ever heard on stage.
Surprised at a couple who went and kind of plus/minus on the other 2 who stayed

We shall see .....

OK ... SO ... Here we go again ....
Finals / Finale last night and tonight BUTT I may have to binge watch on Thursday as we are "booked" tonight and Wednesday

Came across a timely, well-informed and intuitive "rant" from a local celeb here in Lotusland : Reality Check with Bruce Allen

Bruce Allen is a character and force to be reckoned with both INSIDE and outside the music industry.
You WILL have heard of him or some of the folks he discovered, worked with, works with .....
Prism, Streetheart, Loverboy, BTO, Bryan Adams, Micheal Bublé, Ann Murray, Jann Arden etc.etc.etc.

He KNOWS the music business .... WORD !

He does a local radio spot here, and today he NAILED what I have been having concerns about on The VOICE for a while now.

Listen up 'cos I think this IS IT !
Reality Check - That's Show Business

SO from now on, apart from the exceptional stage band and the great individual talents we get to see each week .....
THIS IS my impression of The VOICE as a show

BUTT don't ask me ... just ask Bruce Allen 'cos he knows some shit !!!!!!

Cheers and Harmony all
and may the BEST VOICE ... WIN
and when they do, they should call Bruce !

FINALE ......

glad to see both Britton and Bryn as the final 2 and to quote ME !!!!!
Britton and Bryn make a great duo ... I think they should hook up !!!

Vocally I would have chosen Britton 'cos he LIVES his songs and his original song for the finals was unbelievable
HE WILL go far

and was also surprised to see Kyla go
overall I think maybe she had the best actual "voice" .... BUTT
I guess like Bruce Allen says, it was all about the entertainment "marketing" moments
and not about the actual voices

I hear that Kelly is back next season and so is JHud .... which means Alicia is likely not ???????
which means this is likely the last O/T VOICE update I would want to post :( :( :(

I will watch the actual performances and dig the artistry ....
BUTT thinking maybe done with the hype

yeah I know sis' ... just a grumpy ole bugger here

and I likes me that way

CRguy...Damn it, Man!!! You're getting me going here   :D

But, like Schwarzenegger...I"ll BE BACK :!:

Wish I didn't get so far behind on the show :( , but as I stated in my last post, it is for entertainment, IMO. Ratings must be waning.

Gotta run, but will click on your link & report in more later. You definitely got my attention, tho w/your postings

J Hud/Kelly combo sounds too much for me. Not that Alicia is necessarily my fav, unsurpassed talent for sure; quieter than the other two. W/n be looking forward to that mix. Sounds like Management is really trying to stir things up.

Not surprised by Christina Aguilera's comments really, but am a little surprised Adam Levine agreed. But we all know that from watching. Other than that, there are only so many "Stars" born. What I haven't run across is the complaints from past winners who "run away" from some of those contracts he was talking about.

Based on this article sounds like the coaches don't help that much after the fact or bound to help for any amount of time?? Hmmm

It is very rare that a true star is BORN
usually in the music biz ... a star is MADE ... JMO

possibly the other winners were not cut out for the biz part and just loved the music ????

can't comment on the contract side other than knowing Bruce has a major rep as a honey badger in the music biz
so if some of his folks would walk on these deals ... I would believe you could be selling your soul to satan just to get a record deal, by taking them.

JMO !!!!!
Cheers sista'

So having needed a fix recently I actually watched AGT
There was one young ( 13 yr old ! ) female gutsy, bluesy, rocker with an insane stage performance of some HUGE classic songs
Courtney Hadwin
... Google her >>>> she is amazing if you love a Janis Joplin / Tina Turner / Joe Cocker / Steppenwolf kind of take on things
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6u_3QqoeyNI
Hadwin wowed audiences week after week beginning with the moment Howie Mandel gifted her with a Golden Buzzer just after her full-throated audition of “Hard to Handle.” Mandel immediately compared her to the late Janis Joplin.

Cowell was enthralled, exclaiming “Bloody, Hell!” shortly after Hadwin dropped to her knees. “You are like a lion.”

Hadwin, who made the finals on the ITV program “The Voice Kids,” lived up to the Joplin comparison with performances of Steppenwolf’s “Born to Be Wild,” Tina Turner’s “River Deep Mountain High,” and the high watermark of sharing the stage with The Struts for their hit, “Could Have Been Me” followed by a chaser of Joplin’s “Piece of My Heart.”

SHE IS dope !!!!! BUTT she finished 6th ..... WTF

AND ......
BUTT The Voice is back for the fall season

Adam, Kelly, JHud, Blake

Got some good folks coming thru the blinds so far
1. HATE THE EFFIN' BLOCK = dumbass media showbiz promo crap kind of stuff

2. LOVE the Comeback redux built right into the show = GREAT IDEA

Bring it on VOICE
Let's see what ya' gots !!!!!

You better have someone better than Courtney Hadwin OR
I may just start watchin' AGT .....
maybe

Cheers all
