Lentin/Biobran/MGN3

Postby plastikos » Mon Apr 09, 2018 12:36 am

Hi all. I have used the search function of the forum and have not come up with any results. Has anyone by any chance had any experience with these supplements which supposedly boost one’s immune system specifically NK cell function? As far as I can tell they all seem to be one and the same. Thanks.

Just looking for non-toxic supplements that may boost immune function to (in theory) act synergistically with immunotherapy. Open to suggestions.

I don't have much direct experience on the shiitake related extracts; we used a small amount in 5-7 flavors (mostly PSK with CEA and later, added lots of WGP). I did read a number of interesting lentinan papers early on but forgotten now. To me, whether name changes are branding only, or reflect changes in sources, process, fraction and/or grade, you are likely constrained by availability on whatever underlying components today. Hopefully overall improvement, it is what is available. Perhaps even buy a kg or quarter kg, logistics become precarious and time consuming without commitment. We pay our money and take our best shot, trying to have steady test conditions like on tx and inflammation, and adequate blood labs.

I would ask what's you're test plan. Added NK tests? We used regular, double or climbing dosages, on/off, and watched for distinctive shifts in CBC differentials, MCV, markers and liver panels. Done at 2-3-4 week intervals, depending on era, up to 3-4 draws for classical datasets. With backs to the wall and many components, we could get useful steerage with 10-14 day one point changes with lots of reading and interpretation. Your mileage may vary, rarer MSI-H perhaps with fewer prior results for guidance.

FYI, we got dose responsive results with PSK and WGP with important benefits (for my wife's mutants). More tests, chemo, other drugs and supplements in a rolling fire of improvement were necessary to seize successes.

Also if you can, any anchor points in time on CEA, CA199, LDH, ESR, hsCRP really would be useful for starters, comparison and reference. The boards are unfortunately short on MSI-H bloodwork so far, where communication succeeds better.

megavitamin D3 (+K2+Mg), astragalus, mushroom/glucan/lectin fractions selected for markers, specific anti-inflammatories, several flavonoids including 1-2 at really high doses (e.g. grams not mg).

Maybe use 1-2 free 30 minute call back consults with cancer NDs at Life Extension (Skype or Telegram ?), possibly Riordan Clinic's free conference calls (mostly vitamin C [for Kras/Braf mutants]; some on supplements, I'd ask Dr Hunninghake's experience with MSI-H), or paid phone consults like Lexington. These guys are specialized enough, I doubt you can get as much locally on supplements of interest.
watchful, active researcher and caregiver for stage IVb/c CC. surgeries 4/10 sigmoid etc & 5/11 para-aortic LN cluster; 8 yrs immuno-Chemo for mCRC; now no chemo
most of 2010 Life Extension recommendations and possibilities + more, some (much) higher, peaking ~2011-12, taper chemo to almost nothing mid 2018, IV C-->2021. Now supplements
