MIRAFIBER - MALTODEXTRIN

Postby GreenMonkey » Thu Feb 08, 2018 12:31 pm

Hello Everyone,
My quality of life was challenged by excessive stool elimination (10 to 20 times a day). I could not keep food in my system for more than 30 minutes. I felt constant urge/pressure. I had amazing results using miraFIBER caplets but they no longer make them. They have the powder, but I prefer the tablets/caplets. I believe the ingredient that is so beneficial to me is the maltodextrin. Other fiber supplements do not work. As I understand it, Maltodextrin is made from corn, rice, potato starch or wheat. Even though it comes from plants it is highly processed. I tried increasing my diet with rice, bananas, etc but nothing compares to taking just one of these tablets. For me, it really is a miracle.

What works for you? Avoiding trigger foods is not enough, nor is following the BRAT diet.

Thank you!

Shannon

Hi Shannon,

If I'm understanding correctly, you can still get the powder but not the caplets. Have you considered making your own caplets from the powder? I haven't tried this, but it sounds pretty simple, and the hardware not excessively costly. https://www.powdercity.com/pages/capsule-machine-diy

Hi Shannon -

Thanks for checking in and sharing the Mirafiber tip. I haven't seen you around for a long time, and actually I was wondering how you were doing these days. It's good to see you online again.

Do you still maintain your greenmonkeytales blog, or have you moved everything over to Facebook now?

Metamucil (powder and wafers) has been good for me, but it sounds like I need to try the mirafiber sometime!

thank you everyone for your reply. the powder does not seem to work as well (maybe because of the added sugar?).

I am doing well. had a big surgery last year in march (complete hysterectomy and double hernia repair) but all is good. I just wish I could eat normally. I am a lot less social because of the bathroom issues. I don't blog or write very much anymore. happy to be here amongst the living!
