So happy for you Beans! Praying all goes well. You'll be surprised how quick the liver regrows. Mine was 65 percent removed and was grown back to normal in 4 weeks.

My dear friend,
I read your note to me several times and I am so thrilled that you finally have a surgery date! I am praying for you and will place you in our wider prayer circle as well. I know that you are "cowgirl tough" and can beat Larry and anything he throws at you. I do have a pair of spurs you can wear to surgery if you like.

I definitely will go in there fighting. Larry will not win. I am too stubborn, there is no way the outcome can be anything different than what I want dang it.

Spurs sound like a great idea! Do you think they would let me wear them in the OR?

Love that you take time to write those 'special letters' 'just in case.' I've started mine too. Do you hand write them? I am typing them up so I can edit them, and then I am going to use futureme.org to send them via email at selected times. My most important letters will be be written.

Hugs, and here's to you! Love your positive outlook!

I am hand writing them, knowing beans she will change email addresses a billion times lol. I found some plain cards and got a good set of markers so I can also allow the artist side of my creativity flow if the mood strikes.

It has been a challenge with my neuropathy, I am trying very hard not to let my handwriting degenerate into chicken scratches.

Beans is hanging in there. I was prepared to press for the surgery if they wanted to delay it again because all of the delays were contributing to her anxiety. She actually is a bit better knowing it is happening. I have been spending every minute I can with her making special memories just in case.

That reminds me I need to finish up the letters to her for those special days in the future just in case.

Eh, he is being his usual self. I have a very good friend who has stepped in and has been a huge support to me. Originally he had a trip planned for that week and was still going to go. I don't know who chastised him out of it but now he says he will be here for Bean thankfully.

Yes you can write those special letters to your daughter, butt know that you will give them to her personally as she grows up.

I think of that movie, Apollo 13, when they had to abort the mission and just try and get back to Earth. There is one scene, Gene Krantz, I believe is the character's name. He is talking to a group of people to come up with a solution to get the space craft back to Earth. One of the best scene as he says "Failure Is Not an Option".

You will make it through this surgery. If for no other reason than to give your ex a hard time.

I love it Lee!!! I'm going to have to bring a dry erase marker with me so I can write my inspirational quote of the day on the board. Failure is NOT an option will be the first one. I also remind myself of Yoda and the quote I have from him on the back of my car. Do or Do Not, There is no Try. I will go in strong and confident. I have got this.

You will indeed slay this dragon!

How old is Bean, may I ask? Love the term of endearment. . .is there a story behind it?

I have a 'Little Bear' who isn't so little anymore, but 'bear' stuck after she was being a 'bear' on a vacation when her sister (identical twin) was getting a wee bit more attention from someone.
