So sorry about your dog, that is never easy. Good luck tomorrow, I'm praying everything will be good.

Thank you. It was actually my daddy's dog but I adopted her for him on Father's day 13 years ago. We may adopt a doggie soon or a kitty. I can't lose another dog.. the hurt just hurts.. getting ready to jug another 8 oz of Colyte solution.

As I sip my last yucky prep drink all I can say is it wasn't as bad as I thought but my butt is RAW and uncomfortable. I feel for all of you having to go through this. I have my procedure in less than 3 hours and I'm nervous as heck.

During this prep, only sleeping about 40 minutes in between drinking and pooping I was able to catch up with this crazy world that we live in! Holy cow!! The news is depressing as heck and everyone hates the west. I have realized that we live in a world of such hate/prejudice after reading more about the Barcelona Terror Attack, North Korea's craziness, ISIS, Trump's plans for the world, Racial Groups, and how scary Human Trafficking is becoming. Sad depressing news. I also learned that making your bed the minute you wake up will teach you discipline. I also pray for Natalie Holloway's family. I really hope that found her body this time. It was a depressing night watching the news, and reading articles online about Barcelona. I saw things I didn't want to see. I am pretty sure I saw things before the media caught it, to take it off the internet before everyone woke up! (not a good site!)
The highlight of my night was catching up with OC Housewives and Ellen Degeneres with my orange flavored Jello :D

I will post the results after today!! I can't wait to eat after my procedure! I'm salivating just thinking about it! Have a great day!! :D

I hope the delay in a follow up post is due to a negative result and the OP is enjoying margaritas instead of worrying about cancer.

Hi all!

Sorry for the delay. We just got home from our daughter's preschool graduation. The colonoscopy went good! So glad I chose the Propofol approach. I think I was the only one that did it while the other's were still sleeping from their conscious sedation.

So good news, but still not out of the woods, just yet. GI Dr. found a 55mm polyp and sent it out for testing. The Dr. reassured me that he thinks I will be fine as in he didn't think it was malignant. I also have internal hemmy's and I can get them banded, has anyone done that? Overall, the prep was awful and I didn't get a wink of sleep, maybe 35 min. Colonoscopy was a breeze. I walked out quick, my dad drove me home and I enjoyed a nice lobster sandwich, steak fries, and 3 shirley temple's for lunch, I ate everything which I never do! I was hungry! :) I appreciate all of your support with my prep, and colonoscopy. I will post once I hear the final report. Now, it's time to take care of my mama bear. I wish her rectal pain from the radiation treatment will get better. Her last tx was on the 16th and she mentioned that the past two days were by far the worst pain she has experienced. I have suggested sitz bat but she refuses. Okay, have a good weekend guys. XX

Thank you

Congratulations on completing your folonoscopy. When you meet with the doctor to discuss the results of your polypectomy , I think there are some issues that you will still need to clarify.

Of course you need to find out whether the polyp was non-cancerous, pre-cancerous, cancerous, or what. Then you need to find out what kind of polyp it was -- flat, tubular, etc., because it could make a difference, and find out where, exactly, it was located. You also need to find out the histological grade and the degree of dysplasia to see how aggressive or fast-growing it was. All of these things are important because they form part of your overall risk profile.

Then you need to find out when your next followup colonoscopy should be, i.e., the recommended screening interval for your particular risk level. This can be determined by the guidelines set forth in the documents below:
.
https://www.mdanderson.org/content/dam/mdanderson/documents/for-physicians/algorithms/screening/screening-colorectal-web-algorithm.pdf
.
.
https://gi.org/guideline/guidelines-for-colonoscopy-surveillance-after-screening-and-polypectomy-a-consensus-update-by-the-us-multi-society-task-force-on-colorectal-cancer/

Now that you were lucky enough to get approval for an early screening colonoscopy, you should take full advantage of the situation to get as much information as you can from your doctor.

Sounds like a good and routine outcome. I went through the worry part as well the first time but the second time was easy as I knew what to expect. Now you're the expert for the next person that comes along having to do a colonoscopy.

Do they give a special badge for each colonoscopy?
:)
58 yo male at diagnosis: T1bN0M0, 0/15 nodes, low grade/moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma
03/2016 colonoscopy: 2 small polyps removed in left colon; CEA = 1.3
04/2016 colonoscopy: caecum sessile 3.5 cm polyp piecemeal removed with kind of clear margins
05/2016 "prophylactic" laparoscopic right hemicolectomy - bleeding, leak, infection
06/2017 CT scan, colonoscopy OK; CEA = 1.6
A lot of funny stuff discovered by CT scans in liver, kidney, lungs, arteries, gallbladder, lymph node, pancreas
