Lena, SO happy for you! Go buy some new dancing shoes and have a wonderful time at the wedding.
Melissa,
Thank you ! Your words actually made me step in to a shoe shop today and I came out with new shoes
Sadly I can't dance yet (still in the 'recovery phase' from my fractures) but I can now look at my feet and smile

More than ever I wish he had some amazing friends to really support him. I see how unsupportive some of them have been and how much he is yearning for really good support.
Jess,
My DH also noticed that some friends stepped up with good support while others did not - or maybe it is 'they could not'? Some, I believe, don't know what to say (almost like they become afraid..) and they step back.
Have you checked if there is a Cancer support group in your area? Maybe the hospital know? Perhaps your DF would find new friends there? Friends that understand what he is going through, both physically and mentally. We caregivers can not understand how it feels to be the one diagnosed, no matter how much we try..
Also maybe your father doesn't want to make his close family sad and is trying to be strong? As you have described him it sounds as he is Not a person who put himself first, but instead always want to help others.
Do you think going to a local Support Group's meetings would be something for your father?

I wanted to ask for advice really on any tips for how I could make my Dad comfortable during chemo. Are there things he will likely feel when having the chemo that I could buy any products for? "
Just want to make sure that you have seen this thread that came up after you posted that question.
