My forum family

Postby exaussie » Tue May 16, 2017 3:32 pm

On Saturday night our daughter left to go to her senior prom. By 6pm she took her own life. Colon cancer took her brother and her depression went to hyper mode. She never spoke of her brother, and many other things.
We are shattered, cancer kills but depression is just as @deadly. Survivors, caretakers, loved ones are vulnerable to hopelessness. Get help, if you see someone withdraw then suddenly seem OK, anything like that please get them to go get help. We tried, she had gone to counseling. We tried to get her to admit it and go to a hospital but she knew we couldn't make her.
Gather your family and friends and tell them you love them.

Very sorry for your loss. I am borderline depressive, maybe some what manic as well. Its been many years since I was heading towards that kind of black despair. Its been my wife that has kept it at bay all this many years. I've never been bad enough to require medication, and I am very reluctant to consider that as I depend too much on my mental faculties to have them dulled by medications. I can't comprehend how terrible it must be to loose your son and then your daughter!

Best wishes to you. Be strong and don't let despair get another toe hold on your family!

I am so sorry. My thoughts are with you and your family.
Went in for surgery for a cyst on my bladder, and they found colon cancer growing on the outside of the colon. Got to have two surgeries at the same time! Stage 3, one node involved.
