I had a lymph node removed that was closed to the aorta... had surgery at a major NCI cancer center here in Atlanta at Emory University Hospital.

If you can get to NY and consult with a major hospital that handles more complex surgeries might be a good choice.

I'm so sorry you're going through this.

Did they mention what kind of radiation they might do? I had a lymph node that lit up on my original PET that was near my spine and out of the surgical area so it got left behind. My post treatment MRIs have shown it as all clear, but before I knew that, I talked about treatment options if it biopsied as cancer. One option was Gamma Knife. When I first read about Gamma Knife, they were only using it on brain tumors. I was surprised that my cancer center was using it on other parts of the body. It is much more focused than the radiation you get with CRT.

I hope your biopsy comes back negative, and it's just something weird.

I am so sorry Sammer. That utterly stinks.

I wish I had good advice or some knowledge but I don't.

All I know is I am sorry for this happening to you and I hope you get the best possible treatment and results.

I hate that damn pump also. I was in chemo one day and was wondering how I could be rid of it...and my nurse said drowning it in the toilet would probably do the trick. Now every time I see a toilet, I fantasize about drowning the pump.

Hugs to you.
