That is SO wonderful, Diane. I just knew that you would find out the lung stuff was infection - not that infection is a good thing, but by comparison to cancer... :) Congratulations, and I love the verse you quoted. God bless you, my friend, and you enjoy your CURED status!

G'day Dianne,
My sincere congratulations but they come with a warning. Twelve years ago I was 7 years out from stage 3c into six nodes. My surgeon told me I was cured "of that tumour". He then added you are in the zone , stay vigilant for new primaries. Yesterday I had a scope . I was very nervous. Why? because my GI put me out to 3 yearly scopes because my previous two were clear. Yesterday a new GI removed four polyps. Due to a long waiting list I did not have my scope till three years and six months. The polyps were all larger than 4 mm , the biggest was 11 mm. I am now waiting for pathology. I have had two 2mm polyps in the past with displaysia. I hate to think how bad an 11mm one may be. There is nothing I can do about it now but wait and hope.Please stay vigilant and try to maintain your scopes at two years. we can never be normal, we are survivors,we will always be at risk, Hugs Ron.

Diane,

God gave you a wonderful early Easter Present. Our oncologist told us those words last March when my husband made the 5 year mark being Ned. It is a wonderful feeling, but at the same time , when I read this board I feel guilty. Also like you, the fear in me never goes away. Every little ache or pain, what ever he may have freaks me out.

I continue to pray for everybody on this board and of course like mad for my husband's continued good health.

Have a very holy, happy Easter!

God bless,

Deb

by "far country" I take it they meant Villa Rica!

Thank you all so much! I already have my 6 month appointment for my CEA and a visit with the NP. The onc said 'I won't dump you'. He said I could come there for the rest of my life, even after we stop scans and just have CEA done if I'd like, that's that a few years from now.

@Ron,
I've had yearly scopes up to and including this past August. I've never had another polyp (just the one that was cancerous) so we've moved to every 5 years now that I've gone 66 years with only 1 polyp. LOL
Not to worry my friend! I don't skip mammograms, colonoscopies, nada. I learned my lesson by refusing to have a colonoscopy until I had cancer!

11mm is 1.1 cm so smaller than a dime. Hope they all come back fine.

Congrats. It's great to see some of us get to this stage. We need more stories like this. And what a great Easter present too!
