Peter Trayhurn who was on this board a while back and created some controversy is now in palliative care. I always admired his unabashed desire to survive at seemingly any cost. He tried almost any treatment under the sun that he could afford, including some that seemed a bit shady. I respect his will to live and his tenacity to try anything to keep going, I've been following his blog for months and I've gotten a wider perspective on the man. He is a good father and a decent human being who has fought this dammed disease with all he could. I wish him a peaceful journey.

He was supposed to go back to Germany for more treatments at the end of March, but landed in the hospital too sick to travel. He was hoping right up until recently to go back. I've been rooting for him, as well.

In my years here, and elsewhere, I will say that Pete is absolutely one of a kind.
He pushed boundaries, limitations and never accepted “No” as an answer, and opened up new discussions for patients “ on the Journey ! “
To paraphrase :
If everyone is thinking alike, then somebody isn't thinking- George S. Patton
Yes, Pete ruffled a few feathers in a few places … BUTT he was always one to walk his own path and sometimes to a different drummer….
and could never be accused of “ thinking alike “ ... he did his own thing and shared it with us all.
I sincerely wish him and his loving family Love, Peace and Harmony while they have time left together, on his final Journey.
In the final analysis all we really have is, WHO we are,
and as I said, Pete is one of a kind.
