Four month after surgery.

Postby Tanya » Sat May 14, 2016 8:51 am

It's been four months since I have a surgery and almost a month when they take out my VAC machine. I fill better but it's still painful.
My insurance will be change from June 1 so maybe I can answer do I need a chemo. I suppose to start chemo in April but the last minute call change everything, so now my oncologist, she stop everything and send me for second opinion.
I tried to be accepted by Sloan but they don't accepted my insurance so I changed.
And finally I have a good news from SSA , they approves me for long time disability. At least it some income.
My surgeon ,he is great,in the conference what they have in Long Island every month between oncologists and surgeons he was able to talk about my case, so he said a lot of oncologists said I need a chemo, but they don't agree yet what kind.So he recommended me to see some one from Sloan or NYU.
Right now I am "stay in home mam" and my kids like a lot.
I am happy to be with them.
I am afraid about my future scan and doctors want to wait until August ( but prognosis is good, I cross my fingers).
When it was your first scan after surgery?
Thanks
Tanya

Hi Tanya,
Glad to hear you are healing and enjoying time with your children. My first scan after surgery was 10 months later, 1 year after the last ones. It seemed a terribly long time to wait to me but that was the recommendation from my surgeon.
I hope that your change in insurance allows you to get your second opinion at your hospital of choice. wishing you all the best!

My first scan was shortly after, can't remember if it was from digestive issues or not tho.
