introduction

Postby macpudd » Sat Feb 20, 2016 9:55 pm

Hello everybody,
I am from the Republic of Ireland, my doc has told me I am stage 2C, this is my first time posting on this forum. I was diagnosed on October 2014 and had right hemi colectomy on the 13/10/2015 which removed about two feet of small and large intestine, followed by 12 cycles of Folfox6 over nine months. I had some problems after the surgery with abdominal abscess and was hospitalized twice after my initial surgery, TPN for twelve days after the initial surgery. I am still having a lot of pain due to abdominal adhesions, and some cognitive problems, have had one colonoscopy and one CT since finishing chemo in August 2015 both came back NED. I am having CT on the 26th of Feb so fingers crossed :D. Hope to learn from this forum and hopefully be able to pass on some info to others, I am fifty years of age with four adult offspring and my wife who means everything to me God Bless all..

Hi jhocno197
Thanks for the welcome, its great to have a forum like this to talk to people with similar issues. My family are a great support but I am sure that some times they need a break from listening to me  Hope the Stivarga helps you.

macpudd,

My husband also was 50yr when he was diagnosed. He too was a stage IIT4 and had a rt. hemicolectomy. He was treated with surgery followed by 12 hits of folfox.

He has been ned since surgery which was done on 2/11. He has a ct scan coming up on 3/23, next month. Hoping for both of you to have clean scans!

Welcome to the board,

deb m

Thanks for all the welcomes everybody,
Its been a lovely day here in Ireland with some early spring sunshine, snowdrops and some varieties of daffodils in flower. Hope its nice wherever you are in the world.
Deb m hope all goes well for your husbands scan, this will be my second since finishing chemo, and despite my best efforts not too, I still find myself worrying what if, but I suppose thats par for the course. I returned to work last December but have had to take sick leave in the last two weeks as I am having abdominal pain, fatigue, and problems concentrating and poor memory. My doc says the pain is most likey from adhesions but the scan will show if its anything else, and that the other symptoms should resolve given time.
Take care all,
Macpudd
