Percutaneous Liver RFA

Hi everyone, I'm scheduled for a percutaneous liver rfa next Friday. It's an OP procedure and the doc's nurse has said to expect to take a coupke of weeks off of work to recover. She said I'd be very sore and achy.

Compared to my HIPEC last spring, it sounds like a cake walk.

So, can anybody give me any real world info on what to expect?

….sorry, one of the few CRC "options"I have not experienced … BUTT
IF you've had HIPEC …. I be thinking' that PC RFA will be very DO-able !!!

I had a percutaneous RFA on a small liver met. I have also had HIPEC. NO COMPARISON! Lol! My procedure took about 3 hours, and was done under general anesthesia. I woke up sore where the probe was inserted, which was between my ribs, in the middle of my right side. The kind nurse in recovery gave me a dose of dilaudid in my IV and I had no further pain in that area - it never came back. My right arm was numb for several days following the procedure due to positioning (my arm was placed over my head during the procedure.) I went home a few hours after the procedure. I felt a little rough for 24-48 hours, I think mostly the after affects of being under anesthesia for so long. It was pretty easy, but I had a great procedure with no complications. I was back to whatever normal is within a couple days...
