The Faces of Successful Colorectal Cancer Immunotherapies Vol. 1

Postby DK37 » Thu Oct 15, 2015 12:54 am

Curious to see "The Faces of Successful Colorectal Cancer Immunotherapies Vol. 1"?

As a sequel to my very important MSI-testing Fight CRC column yesterday – I have also published a post on my personal blog with more CRC immunotherapy information and the interviews/profiles of two CRC patients currently being successfully treated in PD-(L)1 immunotherapy trials: Leta Withers and Stephen Estrada!

http://adventuresinlivingterminallyopti ... ies-vol-1/

Note the "Vol. 1" in the title - I assume I'll write additional volumes and make this a series, including hopefully soon MSS-CRC!

That is all so encouraging and I thank you for sharing but like you I am NOT MSI high. I had the test 2 months ago. So my question is there anything on the horizon that looks promising for stage IV CRC who are not MSI high.

liver resection 12-05 Folfox1-05 to 7-06
Liver resection 8-07 Folfiri 9-07 to 3-08

A lot of things look promising (various combination cocktails) in pre-clinical models for MSS CRC - but there is a big triage of things that work in animals that don't work in humans - you never know which one will work without clinical trials. There are a number of clinical trials in progress - no clinical data released yet, but I watch for data releases daily! I'll post any promising MSS clinical data I see to Colon Talk immediately when I do!

You have probably seen Sleen's thread about the NIH TIL trial - she has had success and she is MSS.

Cheers,

I really hope they find something for mss/msi-low, I had a chat with a research doctor in MDA he mentioned that they are heavily focused on MSI-High as they can do something for them  .

But he also said don't worry we are after mss but until now nothing has showed up with significant results as DK37 mentioned.

I also need to mention doing cms 400 test is a very good handy thing to keep around. You never know what you could find in it, preferably do it in foundation medicine a friend did two cms 400 tests one at MDA and another in foundation medicine his oncology said the foundation medicine show much more details and there were some differences !

I currently requested to do it .at foundation medicine of course. And they also do PD-l1 Test !!!!
