Is vitamin C my hero?

Hi Everyone,

So I though I would inform you as to the discussion over my PET scan. At this point no one is saying the cancer is gone. The suspicious spots that were noted everyone is labelling as cancer...even through that are not burning sugar like cancer does "not significantly hyper metabolic."...... BUT in July the surgeon is going to crack me open and take a look.

rp1954 I had vitamin C on Friday and my Pet was on the following Wednesday five days latter. I take vitamin C with some B vitamins and take Celebrex daily with some other natural stuff.

I'm not sure if I have dumb slow growing cancer or the vitamin c has halted what was there at christmas. But I have not done any chemo. It just makes me too sick even the smallest amount. So here I ponder what will the surgeon find....I pray vitamin c will be my hero.

Amazing Cherie. It could be! There is some good research on it. Because of you, i've added it back into my protocol. I scan soon, so time will tell. I can say, that I feel better and have more energy. Fingers crossed for you Cherie, anything is possible with this disease.

I take one gram per killo of body weight. So I am given 60grams over two / three hours intravenously.

I can't find any information on "suspicious spots" not being hypermetabolic. All I know is that cancer is hypermetabolic and my "spots" are not. I hope I not getting my hopes up for nothing.

Vitamin c is no where near as expensive as chemo however is not covered by my insurance. I am lucky that the NZ government is picking up the bill.

Kenny, my shopping experience with low to middle cost parts of America range $125-250 for 50 - 100 gram vitamin C infusions. Due to FDA attacks on supplies, alternative providers have had wild fluctuations in their own supplies and costs.

Cherie, IV vitamin C can stop/reduce hypermetabolism and activity but that doesn't guarantee cancer kill. That said, celecoxib-C-supps sounds favorable for you one way or the other, keep hitting more pathways. Hope the surgeon makes himself more useful than only a tourist. We try to get as many markers CEA, CA19-9, AFP, CA125, CA72-4 before surgery as possible, and after on the non-low markers.

This ND uses predictive blood testing to guide his supplement recommendations.

Rp, that's not terrible but how often does one receive the intrusion? If it was once a week it could get pretty spendy

Kenny, I am having vitamin c while i'm in the USA there are a lot on clinics that do it. There has been a lot in the media here about how doing it everyday and has "cured" a police office of all of his tumours. Here is a article the man in the article was on 60 minutes in New Zealand now everyone wants to give it a try. I do not think it is a magic cure BUT my QOL is so much better with less pain and way more energy. The clinic in FL where i'm going is charging $150 to have the vitamin C.

I hope Vit C therapy is your hero, Cherie. Don't see how frequently you are receiving the infusions.

From what I've read VitC infusions start slowly, gradually build up based on your labs, body, cancer type & spread. So you might start out 2- 3X/week, then level off + a bazillion supplements, no doubt. Interestingly the above two sources say it does not interfere w/chemo, considered a pro-oxidant vs antioxidant.

I know someone doing it, monthly maintenance now IV Vit C @ $120 a pop for breast cancer, 20 something herbs & supplements that vary depending...NED due to double mastectomy, the dreaded HER 2 positive, 8% remission rate, told by 3 oncs that she was terminal, still NED 3 yrs now, refused adjuvant chemo. At this point she is still coughing up between $1000 to $1500/monthly out of pocket which includes traditional medical copays. I'm sure the cost of infusions vary depending on patient needs & what's in it.
