I agree with Jane. This was a tough one to read and respond to.

I've been lurking on this one. Ray was always one that no matter how tough things got he would push through in a positive manner. I found him to be a source of inspiration and the world is a sadder place without you Ray.

I've got some nice wine set aside, and I'll be cracking it open, and thinking of you, your exercise at the Y, your surfing and your love for life as I sip on it.

Sad and unfair (as it always is). He was positive here, and motivating just by his actions (continuing to work, seeking all options etc). Thinking of his family and friends, and wishing strength and better days....

I'm having a hard time tonight. Just under a year ago I came here full of fear and not knowing which way to look or which way to turn. I was so blindsided that I never had felt so helpless in my life. After my intro post, so many responded. I read the posts that they made, I read the signature lines. I recognized these people as veteran fighters. I took an almost child like comfort in the battle of my daughters illness. I thought "Oh yeah? these people are on my side and they are kicking ass" Ray was one of those. We were inspired by so many of you...I think we develop a core for lack of a better word, of the folks we look to with an awesome respect. At least I do. The ones who are still here and the ones who are now gone. Through their own fight, these people have reached out to help others as best they can. There has got to be a special place in the Universal order for such souls. Ray was one of them. Every time I posted with a question, he was there with his take on it. He was one of mine and Katies heroes. A fighter who took this shit on HIS terms. There still are a lot of heroes here, never forget that. New heroes are made every day in this struggle. RIP Ray. Please, look up Katie and let her know how you touched my heart. Strength and peace for your family, brother.
