Tonight I am hating this disease. If there is a heaven, Belle is there now organizing for us. Fly with the angels, dear Belle.

Even though I have known for a few days that this was imminent, I am still numb. I will forever miss our phone calls and Belle's laugh. Until the end, Belle was Belle and I know she would want all of us to continue on and fight the fight but....Belle would also want us to live life at the same time. I can say with 100% certainty, that Belle's greatest accomplishment wasn't her efforts with colon cancer awareness but rather the two children that she leaves behind. Belle was an awesome mom whose thoughts were always on her kids and she worked hard to make memories for and with her kids. You are a true hero, Belle and I will miss you immensely. Leavenworth just won't be the same without you nor will my heart.

Rest in peace dear sweet Belle.
With love and hugs from both of us....we will both miss you.

So sad. My sincere sympathy to Belle's family. I didn't know Belle except through her writing which was eloquent and honest. Rest in peace.

I'm still in shock, though I too knew this was coming for day.
I've toasted her with a glass of wine and a bad blue martini (couldn't decide which was our drink since we've share both)

The one comfort I have is knowing she peacefully crossed the finish line of her marathon.

For those going to Call on Congress, please join us raise a glass (or three) to our wonderful Belle.

'Condolences to Belle's family - may you be comforted by your memories of the good times spent together and know how much she was admired and respected here for her compassion, caring and carrying on with life throughout her cancer journey.

After learning of Belle's death, I turned on the radio and what should be playing - Holes in the floor of Heaven

"Cause there's holes in the floor of heaven and her tears are pourin down
that's how you know she's watchin, wishing she could be here now.
and sometimes if your lonely, just remember she can see,
there's holes in the floor of heaven, and she's watchin over you"
