Polyp was benign and still having cramping/pain

My surgeon said to wait a week and if I'm still having problems to do the stretching again and that we may have to do it several times! I don't want to go through that again especially without any type of sedation! When I have my colonoscopy because of the sedation I have to have someone with me or they won't do it. My boyfriend works and can't keep taking time off of work! The lax-a-day is working and I'm having less bloating and having bowel movements. After most bowel movements I have cramping even if they're softer. The good news is the polyp was benign. My surgeon said to drink lots of fluids, try to keep my stools soft.

I hate that your still suffering with theses symptoms. I was wondering what your diet it like? After my surgery I was told no fruits or veggies for at least a month after the sugery to rough on digestive system. Also maybe seeing gi dr could help you too . Mine gave me the fodmap diet and a lot of my digestive problems went away. The thing that was causing all my gas was certain fruits apples, peaches ,cherries, watermelon. Broccoli and cauliflower causes extreme gas pains....for me any way. This has changed my digestive issues no more severe gas pains! You could look up the fodmap diet on line.

I will definitely look up the fodmap diet. I don't eat much fruit or lots of vegetables. Lately, it's vegetables in pureed soups. I haven't eaten any of the foods you mentioned. I will look at the fodmap to see if any of the foods I am eating are causing issues. It's either, the narrowing, the foods I'm eating or still after effects from surgery. I do drink lactose free milk. For the foods you avoid what do you replace them with?

I hope things get better for you soon! I had the worst gas pains for along time extremely painful too. It's is no fun . I'm finally feeling pretty normal after seeing that gi dr. Butt I have to tell you that was the third gi dr I had seen! She finally was the only one to help me!
I can do grapes, blueberries , strawberries, bananas , green squash, carrot , sweet potato. And more
Oh yeah onions raw are bad for me to! It was funny because the only fruit I was eating were the ones I shouldn't have.

I have gas pains, cramping and just general soreness especially if I overdo things. The pain is worse if I do things where I'm bending a lot.

Great news on the polyp!!! I also kinda wonder if you wouldn't benefit a lot from just plain exercise as in walking. Sometimes a sedentary lifestyle is our own worst enemy. I think your surgery was long enough ago that it would be hard for you to overdo.

I still get sore. Everyone is different after surgery. I am trying. I have other health issues that are going to be dealt with once the referral to my endocrinologist goes through.

Well, glad the polyp was benign! That is great news at least. So sorry you are continuing to feel so bad. From what you said I wouldn't want to go through that procedure without anasthesia either!

Maybe it will be easier to get out when spring comes and it is nicer for walking outside?

Yes it will get easier to walk outside in the spring and summer.
