Positive news for new people

Postby mymom » Wed Aug 20, 2014 6:48 pm

We have not had a lot of great news lately on this board. I saw that someone said it would be good to hear some positive news. And for those that are new to this board, just diagnosed, I think it is important. Although my mother is Stage 4 she is doing very well at the moment. Her next scan results are September 10 (yes I am nervous). She had her three year cancerversary this past May. She is currently NED since October 2013 and off treatment since December 2013. She is NED (no evidence of disease) but living her life as if she is cancer free at the moment. She had a very busy summer.....Trip to Washington DC with myself and grandkids, a week long trip to ocean city Maryland. Day trips to the Bronx zoo (where she ran through the zoo to get to the gorillas before they closed. she did this once before to get to the monorail and almost beat me), day trips to blueberry picking, the local beach, watching the grandkids, dinner parties, etc. She is living and enjoying life. It was nice she had a clean scan beginning of the summer. We hope for the best on her next scan. There is hope. She has had some long NED stretches. But again, my heart goes out to all for those that have not been as lucky and I think of everyone often.
