Thank you, to all you.
Yes, Pollo, I do pray, exactly in that sense. That's why I said "keep her in your thoughts/ meditations/ prayers". How could I be offended by prayer, Janderson... only grateful for yours, and everyone's else.
Grateful for all you lovely words, I'm positive the good intentions will keep her as safe as possible. :)
Right now, she has not any symptoms from this -she emailed me that she went for a walk by herself, yesterday, and she's doing errands today.

Traveler, Laser Thermal Ablation in not available to her in Toronto, and I'm no in a position of suggest her any traveling. I suspect in other Hospital/center with GammaKnife they may use other approach: treat the lesions with GammaKnife, and use WB radiation after the ablation -WB at a lower dose, prophylacticly. But, again I'm not in a position where I could suggest her a review of the images in USA, for example.
In a last-ditch effort, I pointed her to that trial I've mentioned, for MRI guided Focused Ultrasound Surgery, which is other form of Thermal Ablation (using focused ultrasound instead of laser). (I've been ready for this since months ago: I knew GammaKnife/ Cyberknife would her doctor's plan A and, knowing that Plan B would be whole brain radiation, I had this trial ready to explore. She was proposed WB a Friday, the Saturday I was emailing back and forth with the main researcher and he accepted to review the MRI images. Had to tell my friend to send him the CD with the images -without giving her too much details-, which she did during the next week, but the lesions are not treatable with MRI guided FUS because of location. I don't know too much about *laser* thermal ablation but I have a feeling it would be the same case -these techniques are better for deep-seated brain tumours. Hers are on the cerebellum (left, recurrence at the surgical bed; right, a small new one).

Sharon, Traveler: I thought of you when I read about MRI guided Focused Ultrasound Surgery (Lee, I don't think you're at more risk of CC mets because your previous bening tumors, but you may also find this interesting in case the benign buggers bother you again : ) When I have some time and energy, I'll post about it in other new thread. It's really mind-blowing.

Thank you again, I really appreciate each one of your words.

Maia,
Friends are the family we choose, and your friend chose very well when she included you in her life. My heart goes out to her with these new issues, and to you, with the pain of feeling apart and helpless.

I have been blessed with a small, but very precious, number of wonderful friends. Some of us have decided that the song, "For Good," from the Broadway musical Wicked, is "our song." It is two friends, about to be parted, singing of the impact each has had on the other's life. It will make you cry, but it is one of my favorite pieces.

Prayers and virtual hugs to you both,
Dianne
