A little humor in all this mess!

Postby deb1223 » Tue Feb 25, 2014 1:04 pm

Yesterday morning I had the nerves on the right side of my back burned to hopefully end my 3years of back pain. I was completely out when I left the dr. office because I don't remember several things that happened afterward. Anyway wasn't suppose to drive for 12 hours but my husband had to be at the dr. at the same time I needed to pick up my granddaughter from school. Too make sure I didn't forget her because of brain fog I dropped my husband off assuring him I was ok to drive. Actually was at the school 45 minutes early, however 10 minutes before she got out I suddenly realized I had to go to the restroom (please note I'm currently on folfiri). Realizing their was no way I could make the walk inside the school or to the outside park lavatory, I decided to drive the 2 miles to my sons house thinking as long as I don't stand up I could hold it in. WHAT WAS I THINKING!!!! By the time I got there it was flowing like a river of poop. By the time I got in the house it was starting to run into my shoes. OMG I'm at my sons home dripping more and more with every step. It was so bad I had no choice but to take a shower to wash me and my clothes. Suddenly remembered I was suppose to pick my granddaughter up. Fortunately my shirt was saved so I grabbed a hot pink towel wrapped it around my waist and off I ran to pick her up. Grabbed another towel to cover seat until I could get it cleaned and ran out of the house. Forgetting to lock doors or anything got to car and guess what no keys. Not thinking bend over looking in floorboard for keys when I hear a honk and realize I was giving the world a bulls eye target of my bottom. Mind you this is just down from a middle school and kids were heading my direction to get home. After my little panic attack it dawns on my they are in my pant pockets. Finally get back to school 15 minutes late and no granddaughter. Panic, oh dear Lord I can't go into the school like this, fortunately I saw her teacher and screamed where is she. She had gone to the office to call me, I found her without further problems. Then had to go get my husband from dr, all he did was stare at me then finally stated "thought you said you were okay to drive". Hope this wasn't to much TMI but thought I would share everyone I told has had a good laugh and if there's anything we need on this site it's some humor. Blessing to all of you.

I think it's safe to say having/had colorectal cancer makes poop funny at some point. You just have to laugh sometimes. I've been getting cavalier trusting too many farts lately it's just a matter of time before I get bit. What's life without a little excitement?

I cannot count how many times poop enters conversations these days. Between the pain in my a** and potty training a 3 year old, I'm not sure an hour goes by with out some thought of poop. I will say my three year old has the best inspected poop in the world.

Now that was a funny story! :D :D :D Thanks for sharing - sometimes we have to laugh at ourselves....and each other :D :D :D

However, I couldn't believe that you drove though - and to pick up your granddaughter too - glad that you were all safe!

OMG - I feel terrible to be laughing so hard at your suffering, but damn that was funny! I'm so glad you could see the humor in it as well. I have to tell you, that is probably THE BEST EVER poop story I've ever heard - bravo!

I'm laughing so hard I'm crying! Let me restate that! I'm laughing with you not at you. The only way to get through this is with a sense of humor. What did your granddaughter say when she saw you wearing the towel? She must have thought you were crazy. My grandson would have just died. Thanks for sharing!

One of the funniest poop stories I've read in a long time! Glad you and the granddaughter were okay. Also glad you didn't have to get out of the car at the school!

Funniest poop experience ever. I wonder,
what would have happened if you got pulled over by the police?
Thank you for making my day.

Hi,
Adding some humor into the mix is a great way to handle , what could really make us depressed and lose confidence when dealing with this horrid disease. My DH says Bravo, at making us smile and laugh by sharing your adventure, I go through some of that he says, without the hot pink towel!
Happy everything turned out fine!
