Kathryn will be sorely missed. She was a fighter and such an inspiration to everyone who knew her. I'm sure she has met our other CC buds who have left before us and they welcomed her with open arms. Sending peace and comfort to her family at this difficult time.

My heart is shattered. I never met her. I can't imagine how her family and friends feel.

May her memory be a blessing to all that loved her.

RIP Kathryn...♡

We all new it was coming but it doesn't make it easier. She was someone that I felt was very emotionally stable despite the ups and downs of her treatment. There were more downs then ups recently and she was still the same Kathryn and I admire her for that, and for her very obvious strength. She is already keenly missed on this board alone.

I just miss her so much. So much clarity in her journey. I'll remember all what she shared with us during these years -all what she was; she left all that to us.

When my time on Earth is up, I will not have "lost" my battle. I've already won it! I've had over 4 years to enjoy life since diagnosis. I've made it to so many milestones in my children's lives and had special times with family and friends. I've been able to educate a lot of people about the need for colonoscopies and the importance of knowing your family history and advocating for yourself if something is not right with your body. Many friends and acquaintances have gotten their colonoscopies at my urging. I've been able to help other patients by sharing my experiences. I've been blessed to participate in building a wonderful community for patient and caregiver support through ColonTown. I've met too many incredible people to count, all with their own unique cancer stories. This is a WIN! Not a loss. Please remember that when the time comes."

Thank you for posting that. I really liked the message that she left.
I'm just a dude who still can't believe he had a resection and went through chemo (currently 13 years NED). Is this real life?
