What a sad, sad day. Kathryn was everything - strong, honest, courageous, inspirational, kind, loving, helpful and much more. My deepest and heartfelt sympathy to her husband, her four children and all her loved ones. She was so proud of her family. She was very much loved and I will miss her dearly. RIP dear Kathryn xox

Kathryn did it her own way every step of her journey. She taught us so much, she was generous with her knowledge and her time, right to the end. One in a million. How incredibly fortunate we are to have been able to call her "friend". Peace to her family, her loved ones, to us.

I don't know where to begin. I first met Kathryn at a small get together at our house for CRC survivors and Anne from Get Your Rear in Gear. Kathryn was so strong. She was willing to go outside the box to fight this disease. Unfortunately, it seemed that for every step she took forward, there was at least one step back. It was like every known side effect to the chemo drugs hit her, plus she got side effects that weren't even the norm. It never stopped her. It almost gave her more of a reason to keep fighting. One year we walked together at our annual Get Your Rear in Gear. I had finished chemo, and she was in the midst of another series. We could not keep up with her! Her and her husband Bruce were such a kind couple. Things were not always going well healthwise, but they would never come over empty handed. It was such a treat when they brought their homemade wine. We knew for a long time this was coming, but it doesn't make it any easier. It was an honor and pleasure to get to know Kathryn, Bruce, her children, and even meet her parents. She fought a good, tough fight. Now she can rest. Sorry for rambling.

Went in for surgery for a cyst on my bladder, and they found colon cancer growing on the outside of the colon. Got to have two surgeries at the same time! Stage 3, one node involved.

No, Jeff. Thanks for sharing. Confirms what I've always believed (and observed) about her. I'm sure they're mourning in Mexico today, as well.

Even though we all knew this day was coming, it doesn't make it any easier when one of our board 'family' passes away. Our sympathies, thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends as they move forward without their beloved Kathryn. She fought this battle valiantly and with grace and dignity.......rest now Kathryn, knowing that you have made such an impression on so many of us and we are truly blessed to have known you.
To her family - may her spirit live on with you always and the memory of her life and happier days bring smiles to your face and comfort you in the days and months ahead.
