Words alone cannot express the grief that you and your mother must be feeling at this time. Fathers are truly special parents and always hold a coveted place in our hearts. There is a song, sung by Crystal Shawanda, entitled "You Can Let Go" that sums up so well how much our dads mean to us. From the very beginning helping us learn how to ride a bike, to giving us advice throughout the years and being the one we can always talk to about anything.....our dads are the strongest people in our lives and it is hard to imagine a life without them there to call on when we need something.
Keep the memories of your dad close to your heart, CRguy and know that many of the qualities that you so cherished in your father are still alive and well in both you and your own children.
Your family has lost a husband, a father and a grandpa. Give yourself time to be with your mom and help her through the difficult hours and days ahead. Remember though, to give yourself time to grieve as well.
Our family's prayers and thoughts are with you during this difficult time.
