Cathy - Bruce had an episode of rectal bleeding on Sunday. It literally scared the shit out of us!! We were at the ER for four hours that night. He can't get in to see his GI doctor until this Monday. He had a lot of scans and colonoscopies done at that hospital, so the ER doc did look at them. Bruce has internal hemorrhoids and diverticulitis. The blood was maroon in color. He did have a bleeding ulcer last year and was on Prilosec. He stopped taking Prilosec (after the ulcer was healed) because it interfered with his Synthroid. We don't have an answer, but we are praying it is either diverticulitis or another bleeding ulcer. It is always something...
He was not supposed to have a colonoscopy until next year (he had no polyps last year), but he will definitely be getting one, along with another endoscopy.
Please keep Bruce as well as Bob in your thoughts and prayers. Bruce will be hitting his official five year mark on December 11 - cancer free. We want to keep it that way!!!!
Thanks and I love you guys!!!
