Thank you so much for your replies! Bob's wife told me his pulse-ox went up to an 88 this morning! He had a fever of a 103.6 last night, but it dropped down to 100.8 this morning. They are worried about his kidneys as he is not urinating much. He is also in a drug-induced coma. They also have him on a drug so he does not dream. They want to save all of his energy to fight this infection. He is still gravely ill, but it looks like he is fighting!!!

Please keep the prayers coming!!!! They are working!!!!

Cathy - Bruce had an episode of rectal bleeding on Sunday. It literally scared the shit out of us!! We were at the ER for four hours that night. He can't get in to see his GI doctor until this Monday. He had a lot of scans and colonoscopies done at that hospital, so the ER doc did look at them. Bruce has internal hemorrhoids and diverticulitis. The blood was maroon in color. He did have a bleeding ulcer last year and was on Prilosec. He stopped taking Prilosec (after the ulcer was healed) because it interfered with his Synthroid. We don't have an answer, but we are praying it is either diverticulitis or another bleeding ulcer. It is always something... :| He was not supposed to have a colonoscopy until next year (he had no polyps last year), but he will definitely be getting one, along with another endoscopy.

Please keep Bruce as well as Bob in your thoughts and prayers. Bruce will be hitting his official five year mark on December 11 - cancer free. We want to keep it that way!!!!

Thanks and I love you guys!!!

It is sad to say with a heavy heart, our friend Bob, passed away this afternoon. They attempted to do dialysis on him as his kidneys shut down and he went into cardiac arrest.

He was a healthy 51 year old guy until he was diagnosed with freaking rectal cancer in July. He did the chemo/rads with no problem. Then he had his rectal surgery with no problem, went home, and then started having issues (blockage). Cancer sucks!!! This is not fair. I am very bitter about this. This should have never happened!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you again for your prayers. Bob is in a much better place.

Thanks, everyone. It is still a shock to all of us... If there is anything positive out of this at all, it is Bob is no longer suffering.

Rest in peace, Bob. Please look after Karen and the boys...we'll miss you.
