Blue Sky by the Allman Brothers

You're my Blue sky, your my sunny day
Lord you know it makes me high when you turn your love my way

Such a happy upbeat song...makes me think of driving on a long empty highway in Norther Ontario, with my beautiful wife by my side...

And might I add some great guitar by Duane Allman and Dickey Betts...

I haven't been in this topic for a while...SO :

EVERYbody needs a friend sometimes and so much of my own inspiration for life comes from my friends...
Here...Today... and Yesterday..
But always with me.

Love you, my friends.
CRguy

Songwriters: LOGGINS, KENNY / MANCHESTER, MELISSA

Whenever I call you "friend", I begin to think I understand
Anywhere we are, you and I have always been, ever and ever
I see myself within your eyes, and that's all I need to show me why
Everything I do always takes me home to you, ever and ever
'n now I know my life has given me more than memories, day by day, we can see
In every moment there's a reason to carry on
Chorus:
Sweet love's showin' us a heavenly light, never seen such a beautiful sight
See love glowin' on us every night, I know forever we'll be doin' it
Chorus... right
Whenever I call you "friend", I believe I've come to understand
Everywhere we are, you and I were meant to be, forever and ever
I think about the times to come, knowin' I will be the lucky one
And ever our love will last, I always want to call you "friend"
Chorus
(instrumental break)
An' now I know my life has given me more than memories, day by day
We can see, in every moment there's a reason to carry on
Chorus repeats 2x - doin' it, doin' it
Sweet love (repeats out)...
(you're the glowin' light in my life, source of pride in my life)
(everything I do takes me back to you, whenever I call you friend...

Thought about this thread as Jack's Mannequin happens to be on the AXS channel right now. He was dx'd with cancer about the same time I was. I purchased his CD to support him. I know how hard it is to be an artist and make it in this world...

Little did I know his songs would help me soo much.

He just sang swim... Here are the lyrics..

"Swim"

You've gotta swim
Swim for your life
Swim for the music
That saves you
When you're not so sure you'll survive
You gotta swim
And swim when it hurts
The whole world is watching
You haven't come this far
To fall off the earth
The currents will pull you
Away from your love
Just keep your head above

I found a tidal wave
Begging to tear down the dawn
Memories like bullets
They fired at me from a gun
A crack in the armor
I swim to brighter days
Despite the absence of sun
Choking on salt water
I'm not giving in
I swim

You gotta swim
Through nights that won't end
Swim for your families
Your lovers your sisters
And brothers and friends
Yeah you've gotta swim
Through wars without cause
Swim for the lost politicians
Who don't see their greed as a flaw

The currents will pull us
Away from our love
Just keep your head above

I found a tidal wave
Begging to tear down the dawn
Memories like bullets
They fired at me from a gun
Cracking me open now
I swim for brighter days
Despite the absence of sun
Choking on salt water
I'm not giving in
Well I'm not giving in
I swim

You gotta swim
Swim in the dark
There's no shame in drifting
Feel the tide shifting and wait for the spark
Yeah you've gotta swim
Don't let yourself sink
Just find the horizon
I promise you it's not as far as you think
The currents will drag us away from our love
Just keep your head above
Just keep your head above
Swim
Just keep your head above
Swim, swim
Just keep your head above
Swim

Now he's singing spinning which I mentioned before. It was soo my life. Because I had no control over it. I just had to give in to all the appts, all the chaos... Although I wanted to get off for a little bit and make the world stop.... Now it's returned back to normal....

The room is spinning, I have got no choice
Be patient, I am getting to the point.

I can't remember when the earth turned slowly
So I just waited with the lights turned out again
I lost my place but I can't stop this story
I've found my way, but until then
I'm only spinning

He just sang learn to dance... Reminded me of a time when I wasn't sure there would be a tomorrow. I was sad for my unborn children...
But I didn't want to spend my last few days on this earth sad, so I learned to dance....

Another set of white lines
Followed until the morning
Another deep end, deep end dive
Into a cold pool cut with chlorine

We were only 15
When we had to shake the shadow
Of a spirit drifting
And learned to dance in a world where there’s no tomorrow
Lets learn to dance in a world where there’s no tomorrow
No tomorrow

You can learn to dance
You can learn to dance
You can learn to dance
In this world you can learn to dance when there’s no tomorrow
You can learn to dance
You can learn to dance
You can learn to dance
In this world we can learn to dance when there’s no tomorrow

She was my twin sister
We saw the world through different lenses
Thought we found forgiveness
Then cut her hands and her arms
on our mended, mended fences

But she learned to dance
But she learned to dance
You can learn to dance
In this world you can learn to dance when there’s no tomorrow
You can learn to dance
You can learn to dance
You can learn to dance
In this world we can learn to dance when there’s no tomorrow

Now we live our own lives
But in the night when my spirits drifting
And I come up from the deep end dive
I see the eyes of my unborn children
And I’m filled with the love I will give them
Cause it’s the love I was given
It’s the love we were given
It’s the love I will give them
To teach them

So they learn to dance
So they learn to dance
You can learn to dance
In this world you can learn to dance when there’s no tomorrow
You can learn to dance
You can learn to dance
You can learn to dance
In this world you can learn to dance when there’s no tomorrow
