News about Anji (Larry's wife) 5th UPDATE

Postby Bev G » Thu Jul 25, 2013 1:46 am

Our dear Anji, the wife of Larry, whom we lost last year, is in the hospital having a very rough time after a colon resection. A very wicked irony. I learned from her daughter that she had an anastomotic leak post-op and was taken back to the OR for an ostomy and to try to clean things up. It sounds that she may be septic. This evening I learned that she was being taken back to the OR again. I know Anji endeared herself to so many of us during Larry's very difficult time, and thought there would be many here who would want to know, and be thinking about her and sending wishes/prayers in this truly awful and very scary time.

Male Age 53. Dx CC with numerous liver mets 6/23/12. Colon res 6/24/12. Started folfox 7/24/12. Added avastin 8/27/12. CT 12/27/12 still showing shrink. Took 17 rounds of FOLFOX. Then 5-FU + Avastin. Switched to Irinotecan for 1 yr. CEA rose to >400. Switched to Vectibix 2/18/15. CEA decreasing. Scans show some growth in liver mets. Lung Mets stable to shrinking.

Bev,
Thank you for posting this. Do you know why she had a colon resection in the first place? You didn't say....just praying that it wasn't for cancer. Do you have any more news on her condition?
She had to endure so much during Larry's illness....she doesn't need this now on top of everything else. Will keep her and the family in my thoughts and prayers.
