CEA from 3.8 to 2.7

Postby NWgirl » Wed Oct 17, 2012 5:26 pm

Okay - maybe doesn't sound like a lot, but this is a continuing decline from a high several months ago of almost 19. So yeah, I'm pretty darn happy right now.

I guess I need to update my signature! Right now I'm on Xeloda + Erbitux. When my CEA started climbing, I was on Xeloda+Avastin.

When I had my recurrence, almost 2 years ago, the 5FU (at the time I was on the pump)+Avastin really hit the cancer hard. But a few months ago, although my PET scans were good, my CEA started a steady climb. So we dropped the Avastin and added in the Erbitux. Shortly thereafter my CEA started to drop - so I think we made the right move for me.

Great news!!
Jeff
Went in for surgery for a cyst on my bladder, and they found colon cancer growing on the outside of the colon. Got to have two surgeries at the same time! Stage 3, one node involved.
