Holy Cow - Really?

Postby blakeswife » Thu Sep 27, 2012 9:12 am

I'm playing catch-up on the board ........ I read daily but haven't had a chance to log in and participate much. I can't believe how many loved ones we've lost lately; so many DH's. Unbelievable and very scary.

Blake will celebrate 5-years on Oct. 24th which makes me realize how lucky we've been to have the time together. While not a walk in the park, it hasn't been too bad either; for which I am very grateful. Blake continues to work full time which I believe has substantially contributed to his survival. He loves going to work - in a "non-cancer" world.

His chemo break ended a little over 6 weeks ago & his CEA dropped from 9.3 to 7.3 after 2 Folfiri treatments. While that is really encouraging, pain has been a problem lately so he's now wearing the Fentanyl patch but he continues to fight with all he has.

Take care, everyone!

Kathy

Thanks for the inspiration, Kathy. I'm looking forward to hitting 5 years--and hopefully still kicking it like Blake.

Glad to hear that Blake is doing so well Kathy. It has been very sad on the board lately which is why we need to hear stories like Blake's: working full-time, living and loving life despite the diagnosis.
