Mike had his most recent scan this past Tuesday, August 7th. On Friday, he met with his doctor and she was all smiles! His blood work was good and his weight is steady between 144-146lbs. The chemo cocktail he is currently on is kicking some serious "C" monster's butt!! All areas of concern have decreased in size!. These areas being the liver, abdominal cavity, both lungs and thoracic area!!! This is very positive news and makes all the "CRAPPY" chemo days Mike has to endure worth it! Well, I wouldn't say worth it but it definitely makes him/us realize the importance of why such an awful thing... in reality is what makes better days ahead for him and our family.
Mike also had his 29th chemo treatment on Friday! August 24th marks 2 years since Mike's diagnosis (8/10) He hasn't slowed down or stopped kicking butt since!! Many people often tell me what an inspiration Mike is to them and how in one way or another he has inspired them or changed their way of how they look at things in life. To this I say "WOW"! I often find myself looking (okay stalking) him thinking "Is there really all that bad stuff going on inside such a wonderful person"? Seriously?? Sometimes I get angry for a little while and think "WTF"???!!!Really??Sometimes I have a few sad days and cry BUT I stay focused on all the progress he has made and I move forward. Honestly, how he handles his situation in what life has thrown his way probably doesn't affect me the same way it does to our many <3 friends and <3 family. I believe I feel this way because of the many years Mike and I have been together (30 years to be exact) and the fact that I live with him on a daily basis. He has always been a man on the move. Someone that can't sit still if his life depended
on it! He has been this way since I met him. Because of this drive and determination within him, I don't know Mike any
differently than to keep moving forward, continue kicking butt, and never slowing down! Our very own Superman to say the least!
Although the results were positive, he will continue with chemo treatments for at least 2 more months. His next treatment is scheduled for Friday, August 31st.
ALWAYS IN MY HEART!
