Final Bill5107 Update (see pg 10)

Postby Lois7718 » Fri Aug 03, 2012 8:19 pm

Good evening folks,

Bill asked me to post to let you know how he's doing. He hasn't had the patience to deal with his Nook and is not focused enough to want his laptop at the moment. Monday he was scheduled for chemo but they ended up sending him to the ER for the head rush episodes he'd been having for the last 2 and a half weeks.

Tuesday they did yet another MRI and a lumbar puncture done. (Previous Monday's MRI had shown a mass in the brain membrane but did not look like cancer mets). Apparently the tests were quite an adventure per Bill's usual style. He had warned them that when he laid down it would probably precipitate an episode and he would likely not be able to hear them well but if they just gave him some time to relax he would be okay. Sure enough laying down caused an episode and he closed his eyes to relax and let it ease up. He opened his eyes to find them all in a panic becuase he was "Non Responsive". Unbeknownst to him they had put ear plugs completely blocking out what little bit he could hear! They nearly called of all the tests.

All tests were finished but still no real answers. He's on a heart monitor and they're watching his blood pressure. But it's starting to feel like they will eventually send him home with no real answers. They have been giving him some additional meds which are taking off some of the edge of the headaches that accompany the episodes but there's been no real change in frequency.

I have to say it has been difficult watching him as these episodes have from where I'm sitting (he may disagree) sapped what little energy he has had. I'm wondering how he will handle going back on chemo (he's been off now since early June). It could help or it could completely wipe him out.

So swing some chickens or do what ever you do to send him some good vibes and lift his spirits.

Lois,
Thanx for your update...you and Bill are always in my thoughts and prayers.

Chickens shall be swung..."poultry propellers" we like to call them  and let your man know we need to pick a day for an upcoming holiday.
Tell Bill the "Mayor of Weirdsville" ...CRguy, thinks a National Farticus Festival would be a great way to...ummm..."blow off" steam ??? and since Bill is THE Farticus proponent we all love (has the clothing to prove it !), we need his input.

Sending posi+++vibes, best wishes and Harmony

Cheers buddy, let your spirit soar

Hi Lois,

Thank you for taking the time to update us on Bill. Bugger, I'm sorry that Bill is still suffering with these episodes. It must be maddening for him, and you, especially as there is no obvious reason for them. I really hope that he gets some answers soon!

It sounds like he gave them quite a scare :) And what a surprise for Bill too, to see them all in a panic. Never seems to be a dull moment when Bill goes for tests/treatments :)

Please give Bill our love and let him know we're thinking of him. Big hugs to you, too. Hope he gets some relief, and some answers very soon! Hang in there.

Prayers for answers and comfort for Bill. Been too long they haven't been able to get him comfortable. Take care of yourself as well. We know you have a full plate with home and the kids and this roller coaster Bill's health has been on. Thanks to you on behalf of all us patients to our loving unsung heros, our caregivers!! You are awesome, and we couldn't do it without you!!

Onward!! And hoping for a post with improvements and comfort for Bill.
