Unless it doesn't work, of course. Then it would be Erbitecan't.

'Twas that for me, last fall.
CEA rose lung mets increased slightly in size, and telltale ascites developed such that I needed 2.6 lts. of fluid drained every 3 weeks.

Now things are under control with Folfiri + Erbi + Avastin.

Hope it works well for you Eric, since it's a relatively mild regimen.
Except for the hairloss and diarrhea from the Irinotecan, and dryness/itchiness off the Erbi as others have noted.
And Erbitux is an absolute magnesium SPONGE; just sucks it right out of me, so I need (3) 1 g infusions of mag sulfate at each infusion.
Erbitux can also cause a sudden cardiac event after any infusion, so 1-hour of observation following infusion is necessary.

Well, that's nice to know NOW after my husband is off the stuff! He drove himself to and from a few Erbitux only treatments, leaving right after the infusion finished. In any event, in the best case scenario, I was the only one around to observe him after his infusions. Can someone explain why these procedures are not followed universally if they are that serious?

BB, just finished eight months of this combo (whatever it may be dubbed!), four weekly Iri/Erbi followed by two weeks Erbi only. You may be in pretty decent shape regarding the rash, mine affected the face/neck area as well. However, Doxycycl and the Clindamycin gel did a pretty good job of keeping the rash in check. The dry skin seemed to become more of an issue as time went along, especially with the hands. Vaseline helped me with that. Mouth sores have occurred occasionally, but prescription mouthwash works like a charm!

Fatigue has been the most problematic side effect for me. Fortunately, I am on disability from work so those naps come in handy as needed :) . Nausea wasn't too terrible and I basically lost all my hair, but it's growing back, very gradually.

That's probably why they give me the Erbitux first, then the Irinotecan.
