UPDATE on radiation

Postby Terry » Sat Apr 21, 2012 1:21 am

Hi everyone! Jaynee thought I should come on and and let you know how I am and how radiation is going.

First of all radiation is doing well. My rad. onc. says the tumor looks more like scar tissue than a tumor these days. One reason I haven't been on is because I keep fall asleep. I started writing this at about 6pm tonight and just woke up now with lines of "v"'s al over the place.

The Xeloda seems to be helping my shortness of breath, I pray it continues to do so. I'm through with the rad. on the thyroid and have about 2 weeks left on the nose unless the rad/onc. decides to extend which is a possibility. After that a 2 week break from everything, then back on to Xelox (Yuck!). Oh well, I'll do what I need to.

I better post this before I lose it for the umpteeth time:(

Lord I know You'll keep me here until
you know I cannot suffer any longer!

You are posting rather late, but thanks for doing so.
Sounds like good progress, and I wish you the best continuation of such.

Hang in there, we know you're a trooper!

Terry
Good to hear the radiation is doing its job in shrinking/shriveling up the tumors. Radiation is a stress on the body, as is a low/nonfunctioning thyroid secondary to the radiation, so get as much rest and sleep as you need. Once you are on replacement thyroid medications you should feel a lot better and have a return of energy.
Wishing you well and continued success with treatment.

I wasn't worried because I know Jaynee would let us know if anything changed dramatically, but I'm so glad to hear that the radiation is working and that your treatment is moving forward, Terry. Get as much rest as you need--I've come to appreciate the value of sleep. Nothing better, IMO. Your body knows what it's priorities are.

Thanks a lot, Terry, glad the nose thing is being fried.

Hope the xelox, however icky, will deal with the rest.

I came on here this morning to see how you and a couple others are doing before I went to rest. What a blessing to read that the radiation is working! I, too, have fallen asleep while trying to type something. Funny and embarrassing all at the same time. Take it easy and know we're praying for you!

That is because "V" is the WW2 victory sign Terry...
and it sounds like things are working towards a victory for you.
I found the radiation really zapped my energy, so rest and recover !!!! If you gotta do chemo...Xeloda is my first choice so I hope it keeps helping you as well.

Sending prayers and POSI ++++++++++ vibes your way.
