Well folks, it's time for the annual Tshirt slogan brainstorming request
. For those of you that were not around in spring of 2011, every memorial day weekend since my diagnosis, my wife has gotten together a team of family and friends to run a race and fund-raise for colon cancer research. The race of choice is the Buffalo Marathon, which also has a half marathon, and a 4-person relay marathon component. Last year we had 3 teams of runners for the relay, and a handful of folks doing the full and/or half individually. Kelly's team actually came in 2nd in the co-ed relay
which is impressive as hell since thousands of people run this race, as it's a qualifier for the Boston Marathon.
Anyways, we do an informal "Team Fletch" for everyone running on my behalf and we always do Tshirts and/or dry-wicks. The front says Team Fletch 2012, and on the back we like to come up with an eye-popping slogan to try and get attention and to encourage awareness. We've had a few folks both on race-day and through out the year as people wear them ask about the shirt's meaning, and every time they do, it's a teachable moment about CRC. Kelly and I are not the most creative folks ever, so we're appealing to you guys as we have done every year for slogans for the back. Feel free to make them a little racey if you like, but above all, have fun with it. CRC offers plenty of double-entendre opportunities, so make the best of it. We want something that's gonna catch people's attention and make them think about CRC, screening, something like that. Looking forward to seeing what we can come up with this year
