Here's the plan. Hope it works!

Postby Terry » Sat Mar 24, 2012 1:18 pm

So I saw the radiation oncologist yesterday because this tumor in this nose has taken on a life of it's own. I'm sure because they cut into it to biopsy it, for some reason you cut into MY cancer and it gets really pissed off and says "I'll show you" and spreads!

Anyway, I go and get fitted (scanned in the head first) for a mask on Monday and they want to start A.S.A.P. so either Wed. or Thurs. I'll be starting radiation. Right now I have complete occlusion and it's just about to be on the outside of my nose. It's the ugliest thing I've ever seen. He said it won't put a hole in my face which I was a little worried about. He's also going to radiate the thyroid too since it also has rectal cancer in it. These docs just can't believe that my cancer has spread to the thyroid and nose, they thought for sure it was a new cancer.

They're doing another surgery like I just had done and the liason had to make sure she came and told me that. I guess not many have been done. It's not the colostomy part, it's the removing a tumor from the S1 S2. I really think that's why the guy at Froederdt dinked around and wanted to send me to Ohio, because he had never done it. Well now they can send patients to Green Bay which they called (well they didn't, but one of the nurses did) hick doctors. Hmmm, Deanna Farve had her breast cancer treatment there and the rest of the packers have stuff done there so I doubt it's full of hick docs.

Anyway, that's the plan. I'll be doing that and Folfox, yippee! I'm hoping I can do both. I had to go in last week Monday and have 2 bags of fluids, potassium, a GI cocktail and they gave me a bunch of new drugs from the first folfox. I've had it twice already and it never made me so sick. I guess what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger, right!;) Maybe since it's making me so sick it will actually work

Hugs and prayers you all!

Terry,

I am praying for you and hope it works, I don't know how you are handling this, but fight this and I hope they are able to zap it. Why can't they cut it out? That might be a stupid question or you might have already explained this.
