I will pray for her - missjv

When I think about people who have battled back from Stage IV cancer I always think about you. I admire your feisty-ness. Many of you on this forum have been an inspiration to me.

I'm not familiar with Cindy's situation. Was she diagnosed with rectal cancer and when was she diagnosed?? She looks so young.

If I remember correctly, Cindy was married within the last year. Their wedding may have been over the summer.

I don't want to push my religion on anyone. however, I would like you to know when I prayer for folks, some details for anyone who might be interested.

I'm catholic. There is a priest from my orignal home town, New Orleans, Father Xavier Seelos, who was died just after the Civil War. He has been beatificated by the Pope and we believe he may be made a saint soon.

Father Seelos has been important in my life, even before I got cancer. Often in my life have prayer to God and asked Father Seelos to assist me in my request. There are many, many people in the monthly newsletter who have testimonials of people with cancer having prayers answered thru the intercession of father Seelos.

Now i've never prayered for any such intercession in my case, I only point out others have. In my own case, my prayers thru father Seelos are more about a more personal feeling of peace and well being. But I meantion, in case others are interested.

the prayer I pray is
O My God, I truly believe You are present with me. I adore Your limitless perfections. I thank You for the graces and gifts You gave to Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos. If it is Your holy will, please let him be declared a saint of the Church so that others may know and imitate his holy life. Through his prayers please give me this favor ... (HERE MENTION YOUR SPECIAL INTENTIONS)

the web site for the seelos center is http://seeelos.org

I don't post this to attempt to convet anyone, but rather just as information that might be of interest because this has been been of a personal comfort to me.

her site http://www.supportcindy.org/ says:

February 5, 2008 ~ Cindy passed away peacefully at 11:42 pm at UCI Medical Center from colon cancer. She was 32 years old.

very sad - she was so very young and her fight with colon cancer was so brief.

I am Sooooooooooooo saddened by this! I was away last week in Cindy's beloved Hawaii! So I was not aware what was going on!

I signed on to her one thousand crane project last year and knew about her before she came over to the colon club.

In fact go read her journal, on January 16th 2008 she was all excited and feeling good. I left for Hawaii on January 27th and come back and she is gone on the 5th. Wow! We all just do not know!

May's God's Blessings be with her family!
Blessings,

Some extra prayers for Cindy31

Postby wellnesswoman » Mon Feb 11, 2008 7:06 pm

I read Cindy's journal. It is heartbreaking. I am so sorry. Whenever I remotely think of taking a "cancer holiday" from advocating, writing, speaking about it, I realize I cannot.

Just so sad.....

it is very sad she was such a fighter and so young it is very depressing when this happens. she was a very thoughtful person she would email me to see how i was doing even though she was having such a rough time herself. the fact that she was concerned for me shows what a great person she was and she will surely be missed by her family and friends and even though i only met her through email i will miss her as well.
