Hi everyone,
You may remember my posting from a few weeks back, asking stage 4 colon cancers how they survived. I apologize for the distraught nature of that post; I was in full-panic mode and definitely not thinking clearly.
As it turns out, I do not have colon cancer (my colonoscopy was negative), BUT had an endoscopy last week, which showed Gastric Signet Ring Cell Adenocarcinoma; based on CT scans they determined Stage 4 with multiple mets to the liver. Waiting to have a PET scan to detect any possible bone spread. Everything I read, and the local doctors I have talked to, give a dismal prognosis for this aggressive gastric cancer.
Now, I know this a Colon Cancer and not Stomach Cancer forum, but I have read that some people on here have Signet Cell cancer and have success in treating it. So to the Signet Cell people here, how did you have success in treating your cancer? I read something on one of the postings about simultaneous RFA/HIPEC followed by a liver resection; did I understand that right? Who are good candidates for this? Were there any Chemo regimens that worked particularly well? Any other innovative treatments or clinical trials out there that anyone knows about?
I sincerely, sincerely from the bottom of my heart appreciate any information anyone can give me. I am 29 years old, married to the love of my life, and I don't want to leave him yet.
