Fever with Folfox

I've been looking back at some of the other posts about fever with Folfox and it seems to be related to bacteria in the port.

I have had FOLFOX in the past without problems but have recently restarted it. After first dose I had 103 temp and lots of chills. Was started on antibiotics yet blood cultures came back negative. Then for second round of Folfox same thing happened, only faster and worse. Again negative blood cultures, no blockage in the port.

Was wondering if anyone else has had this reaction to Folox without there being an obvious cause (infection). IF so did anything work to offset it, like premeds? am very worried about the next infusion.

Just finished Folfox 5 weeks ago.
I had minor fever/chill spells several times on about day 3.
Not severe enough (less than 100F) to be immediately concerned about, nor to initiate cultures at next round.

I haven't found anything in the literature of any of the chemicals related to fever/chills, other than to be wary of infection.

I had fevers and hot flashes. As high as 101. I took a couple of asprin and rested fever gone. I think it is just a side effect. When I snow skiied after a dose I would get fevers, I knew I would get one and treated it before it got bad. I did 12 rounds of Flofox 6. No problems since I have been off treatment.

I was wondering if this was a side effect. I had a fever of 101- 102 and chills on the day of pump disconnect...ended up going to the hospital for blood tests...WBC was fine. Now I know for next time.
