I thought so highly of John's willingness to help others and his courage and hope in this challenge, that in a very recent Yankees-Sox series this NY fan found herself wishing that Boston would win, if just for John.

My heart is shredded, and I'm crying after reading about John's passing. This is from a person who only knew him from his optimistic, hopeful posts.
John is a true warrior, because every time some nasty news was tossed his way, he regrouped and carried on with grace and courage. How awesome is that?
