A story about our local group organizing a colonothon. It is modeled after ACS's Tell a Friend Program for breast cancer.

Here is the link to the story:

I too would be interested on how to put a colon cancer event together, get started.
The super colon that I saw at Kaiser during colorectal cancer awareness month in March cost $12,000 to rent it for the one day event. During October breast cancer awareness month I will be volunteering to pas out information regarding colonoscopies and colon cancer.
The nearest colon cancer event that I have been able to find is in held in Fransisco and I live in Riverside near Orange County between Los Angeles and San Diego
Here is a calendar of national health observances-

My friend lobbied to help get the Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day 2009 - October 13 observed in Riverside.

With any event you need to start small and what you could handle. Be creative. Our group also partners with ACS and a few local hospitals for an age specific database.
