Anyone have a J pouch?

Postby shylo » Fri Dec 01, 2006 1:45 pm

Hi Everyone,

I am scheduled to have my ileostomy reversed and connected to my Jpouch in January. Any advice? What should I expect? Is it hard to adapt to the change? Can you tell when you have to go? I'm nervous I wont have control.

Thanks,

Shylo

Hi Shylo,

If you don`t get any response about j-pouches here, you might post your questions on the UOAA message board. Many people there have gone that route.

Good luck and stay well,

Bob B.

Hi, Shylo - as far as I know, it'll probably come out the consistancy of porridge, and you'll have to go more often, and be more careful than if you had no problems. On the other hand, compared th the symptoms you probably had prior to treatment, life will be much better!
