Tomudex as an alternative to 5 FU/Leucovorin

Postby Pollyanna » Tue Nov 28, 2006 12:25 pm

Hey, Y'all:

Just thought I'd let you know that my second session of chemotherapy is going swimmingly compared to the first.

I switched drugs from 5 FU (boy, they got that name right!)/Leucovorin to Tomudex, and it has been a night and day difference.

With the 5FU, I experienced almost all the side effects one could expect, in spades. Extreme mouth sores, vomiting, fever, rash, blood infection.

With Tomudex, the only thing so far (I got my infusion last Thursday) is just a real weariness. Which, as a world-class napper, I can handle NO PROBLEM!

Just thought I would share, as this change is nothing short of miraculous.
I am blessed.

Hey Pollyanna,

That is GREAT news! YAHOOOO! Plus, isn't napping nice when it is getting to be winter - although maybe up there it has been winter for a while?

Please continue to let us know how you are doing on Tomudex, since we don't get it "down here" in the states.
