You know you've had a lot of medical appts

Postby cptmac » Fri May 01, 2009 1:21 pm

When you not only recognize the voice of your doctor, nurses or schedulers when they call, but now you've reached another milestone and recognize the voice of your CT radiologist.

He called today to remind me of my CT on Monday. They all know I'm bad about remembering to take my barium with me, then they have to leave it in the ER, so when I drive in late at night I can pick it up. But at the my last appt, they gave it to me at the start of my appt. We chatted and asked about the weather.

If all goes well, only two appts left, and I will sadly miss my friends.

You know you've had a lot of medical appts

When the clinic you used to work at was 6 blocks from the Cancer Clinic, and instead of going to work you ended up turning onto the road leading to the Cancer Clinic !!!

Too many appointments AND chemo brain ! Yup really happened.

Cheers

John,
With my rectal cancer every check up included a digital exam. Although I didn't start unbuttoning for blood work I did for a none cancer related check up. It was so much a part of doctor visits that I didn't even realize what I was doing at first. It was embarrassing then but now I laugh about it.
Hugs,

No, my port isn't down there. You know you've had a
lot of medical appointments when you start to pull down your pants even
when.....
I even bought new flashy underwear for the radiation techs (or whatever
they are called) so they had something bright to look at everyday. :)
They appreciated it.

When the receptionist recognizes your voice when you say you need to make an appointment.

When you have a doctor in practically every medical specialty known to science.

When you know what test to ask the doctor to run and he/she says that would be a good idea.

When you fill out those stupid surveys -What 3 places do you go daily? and your onocology/chemo center is one of them.

When you go to the onocologist/chemo clinic and everyone knows you so they let you right in.

When your chemo clinic staff and nurses are your second family.
