Any other ladies here with PCOS?

I'm attempting to conduct some research and wanted to see if there were any other ladies here on the board with PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome). Myself and a fellow colon club member have way too many things in common such as we both have PCOS, had/have infertility issues, took infertility meds such as Clomid, we are both 34, have stage III colorectal cancer..you get the point.

So..I'm curious to see if there are others out there like us. I'm wondering if there is a link with PCOS and the infertility drugs.

Thanks!

Yep, me too. PCOS, clomid, stage IV colon cancer metastasized to the ovary.

I do not have PCOS, but have uterine fibroids and did IVF to get pregnant. I was on injectable Gonal F and Menopur before egg retrieval. I was diagnosed at stage IV 2 months after giving birth to my son. I believe that the high estrogen levels may contribute to the growth of the tumors.

Annb - If you don't mind me asking, when were you diagnosed with pcos? Did you ever take Metformin?

babybear - Interesting. Most of us with pcos have estrogen levels that are too high. Thank you for posting.

I've done a little more research and found a few medical articles discussing a link between insulin resistance (which is common with pcos) and colon cancer.

If there are any others out there let us know.

Thanks!

No, I never took Metformin. Did take one round of Clomid to get pregnant with my first child. After that the condition seemed to resolve. I never took birth control. I did take natural progesterone. In addition to colon cancer I also had DCIS breast cancer.
