Call on Congress - March 2009

Postby eitter » Thu Mar 26, 2009 5:05 pm

Hey You All....

I had an AWESOME time in DC this week, to much fun for one person to have and will repeat it next year and hopefully bring more of you in tow! What an incredible week it was. I ended up in places on the Hill most are not allowed to be and even in the hearing with Breanke and Geitner, we sat right behind them and got our 'Cover Your Butt" shirts on C-Span for the world to see! And yesterday I chased down the President and that was exciting and I am a Die Hard McCain Republican but it was still exciting! Pictures with Kennedy, and my Congressmen.........and Co-Sponsors are jumping on board like crazy! Look up HR 1189 for this Congressional session and see the Bill and what it is about!

In case some of you have no idea what I did and Christine was there too, anyone else here there? O Yea Jenny(Tony Snow's sister was too). What we do is this......C3 is all about getting laws passed that are in the benefit of Colorectal Screening and Awareness, they work FULL TIME ON this! Then once a Year Advocates come to DC from all over the US and go meet with their Congressmen and get them to sign on to the bill. It is a VERY EMPOWERING experience and YOU can make a difference. THis year there was about 65 of us HOWEVER not every state was there and we Really Really Really need to have every state there next year! So think about it and we are working on a Scholarship program so stay tuned for those details! My goal is to have a Scholarship for one person from each State at the minium!

I am going to write more later but if you are on FaceBook you can see all my pictures and updates! When you look me up on Facebook I have my name as Liz Dennis, since my divorce was final last week I am SLOWLY but surely chaging it all to Dennis from Itter.
Blessings,
Liz DENNIS

Yippeeeeeee.

I am a little too upset with everyone in D.C. right now to have gone anywhere near there, but next year.
