Update Well its time for a CT Scan

Postby jumpman50512 » Thu Apr 01, 2021 10:00 pm

Hello everyone

Well, today I went to the doctor to get the results of my bloodwork, and well it went up from 5.9 to 8.8 in a matter of two months. Which really sucks oh well. Now I have a CT scan scheduled next week and a pet scan which I had anyways to be pushed. The doctor said it could be nothing but who knows. I just think it's weird since I feel fine I feel strong I started lifting weights again I am unsure why it went up now. Well here goes everything. Just wondering if anyone has had a reoccurrence and went and got surgery and was NED for the rest of their life. thanks guys

It does put you on edge for sure. Is there anything fishy in bloodwork?
My bloodwork has always been great, scans clear but cea is 10 now. Scans every 3mths. Bloodwork every 2wks.

Yup, it does. I am just hoping if it's anything there is a chance for surgery and not a lot of chemo. And not that I know of he just said CEA is at 8.8 and since my PET scan came out clean 2 months ago he thinks it might be something really small probably less than 1cm since the pet scan did not pick it up.

I bring up exploratory surgery every single time to my surgeon. He just shakes his head and says NOOO, we have to have a target. My response is always lets find it by you putting on your superman glasses and go to surgery. He thinks thats the craziest thing.

haha I like your attitude wish I had the same attitude. Doctor said it could show up in my lungs maybe also but hey who knows. My parent's always telling me to try natural stuff but to be honest in my opinion none of that stuff works.

Answering your question on long term survival. Yes my mum had hit a few recurrence bumps on the road and living a good life despite of them . They became less frequent until the stopped .
The last one was removed at 8 mm ! Before it could make an impact really .
Five years clear and attribute it to robust scanning and getting it removed early .
Hope it all goes well ,

I had an unexplainable rise in CEA through chemo such that my Oncologist ordered a CT scan and found nothing. I believe the rise was exercise-related. I charted the rise in CEA against the number of steps I took and it correlated nicely.

Scans with contrast should find any area with unusual activity.

My CEA had risen to just above 8 and now is around 7. My oncologist told me on Thursday that CEA may well be linked to inflammation in general, so my acquisition of RA at some point during the last two years could have driven it up, and the RA treatments could be bringing it down. Through all of this I have been NED. The lowest my CEA has been was at diagnosis/surgery, when I had substantial cancer, and they said it wasn't a marker for me. The whole thing is puzzling! If you recently started weight training, that could well account for a rise.

Hope your scan goes well.

As for naturals, there are potent ones out there that road block cancer pathways. But, you need a good intergrative or ND or both to determine what works on your cancer.
