SAD STAGE 4 STORY TO PASS ALONG

Postby missjv » Fri Sep 22, 2006 5:37 pm

HI EVERYONE,
JUST WATCHING MY LOCAL NEWS AND THEY HAD A STORY OF A WOMEN WHO WAS EXPERIENCING PAIN UNDER RIGHT RIB CAGE AND WAS TOLD BY A DOCTOR TO GET A SMALLER PURSE AND CARRY LESS STUFF CAUSE SHE WAS STRAINING HERSELF. SHE WENT ALONG WITH THAT FOR A WHILE UNTIL PAIN GOT WORSE FOUND ANOTHER DOCTOR AND WAS FOUND SHE HAD STAGE 4 COLON CANCER AND LIVER WAS CONSUMED BY CANCER AND SHE PASSED AWAY YESTERDAY SHE DID HOWEVER LIVE 5 YEARS WITH HER ADVANCED CANCER AND FILED A LAWSUIT AGAINST DOCTOR WHO GAVE HER THE TOO HEAVY PURSE DIAGNOSIS. THAT RIGHT THERE IS REASON FOR ALL OF US TO QUESTION OUR DOCS AND GET 2,3,OR HOWEVER MANY OPINIONS WE WANT. WHO KNOWS IF SHE COULD HAVE HAD SURGICAL INTERVENTION 5 YEARS AGO MAYBE SHE WOULD STILL BE HERE. SHE HAD AN INTERVEIW A FEW MONTHS AGO AND THAT IS WHAT SHE MENTIONED THAT IF ONLY SHE WOULD HAVE GOT ANOTHER OPINION THEN THINGS MIGHT HAVE BEEN DIFFERENT.

The same thing happened to me except I was told it was gas and given Zantac. I didn't bother taking it because I knew it wasn't gas. At first I thought I pulled a muscle. Another year went by before a CT scan was done and I was diagnosed. For those who are interested the Colon Cancer Alliance (for free) will send you cards similar to business cards that list symptons on one side and facts on the other about colon cancer. I pass them out whenever I get the chance. It is one of the easiest and best ways to be an advocate.

happened to me

Postby tandy24 » Fri Sep 22, 2006 9:53 pm

Same thing happened to me i had the pain, bloating, bluh, bluh. I was put on a medication to "control" the problem. But the problem didnt go away. Then i started bleeding and my doctor told me i had hemroids. I asked if she was really sure about this and her reply was what else could it be your to young for anything to be really wrong. 4 weeks later i went in to see a specialist and found out i have stage 3 colon rectal cancer. You are the only one who knows your body, if you dont feel right about something or the doctor you have get another. I wish i would have sooner.
God Bless and Believe,
