Seven years ago I entered the month of February not even knowing if I would see another January. I was absolutely terrified. I had just completed my five weeks of chemo/rad and I was now preparing for what my doctor referred to as the big operation.
Big, was an understatement. It would be a six hour surgery with the possibility of a permanent bag.
Cancer had completely taken over my life.
It's now been seven years since and I am still reading and posting on Colon Talk. Although not as often as I once did, I still come here weekly and I most likely always will. Over the years the orchestra has changed, but the song remains the same. Like me, you are all waging your own war on cancer and you are fighting with everything you have.
During my war I kept notes on everything and afterwards I wrote my journey journal. It was my hope to someday share it with others just starting out on their journey. I remember how I always gravitated and read anything that offered me any sliver of hope especially in those early days.
I got so much hope by visiting Colon Talk daily.
Many have read and liked my story.
For those of you who are new and haven't, I will throw it up on here once again. If it gives one more person the same hope that I would desperately cling to almost seven years ago when I joined this forum, it will be worth the time and effort I put into it.
Good luck too everyone here.
Chin up and you've got this.
